Queering materiality and language, Pablo Vindel reimagines presence, absence, and belonging—crafting spaces of and for transformation.
Nos yeux ne pourront jamais se regarder (“Our eyes could never look at themselves”) consists of a sculptural diptych inspired by Etel Adnan’s book poem Prémonition. Designed for two sets of eyes, the piece encourages collaborative looking. It poses the question: How are we meant to see, and how does that change when we look together? The work emphasizes that profound understanding requires more than one gaze, suggesting we might never fully see ourselves unless we are seen by others.
